So the dogs woke us (me) up early today.  I can tell I will be dragging butt for awhile.  I got almost 7 hours sleep...  which brings up the question  -

How much sleep do you need to "function"?  What do you do when you and your spouse are not on the same sleep pattern/amount needed? :) :)

You are sooo funny.
I think what really pisses you off is the fact that I only need 6 and have been hopping around the house all cheerful this morning.

Little does she know, it's all an act, I'm actually a grumpy ol fart, I just do it to piss her off. :D

In the last 50 years all I needed was 4 hrs.  But this is the first year the I have been sleeping more the 4.  Sometime I now sleep 5 hrs about once a month.  Don't know why must be my new age.   ;D   So there is no sleeping problems, the good wife gets up when she likes.

I have to have 7-8, but prefer 8-9.  FM gets up and gets ready for work and then I get up.  He likes his quiet time to prepare for the day before I bounce out of bed with 1,000 questions.    ;D  ;D

My sleep schedule is all over the map.  Typically I sleep 3-5 hours per night, then catch up on sleep during the weekends, but lately I am up for 24 hours+, then sleep a few, then up another day, then catch it all up.  Then I go through periods where I sleep 12+ hours for a few days in a row.  I just don't have a handle on it.

I notice that as I age, I need less sleep, however, I have also noticed that during the early afternoon I feel much better if I lay down for about 20 mins, nap or not.
I would guess six to seven hours at my age (60) is typical.

Sleep is something we all require. Our physiology determines how much we really need. One person may require 10 hours while another person of the same age can get along on six. Your body will tell you when it needs rest.
