In the 70s the ADA started pushing a high carb/low fat diet and America did as they were told and got very very fat.

It was exactly wrong information.  Finally a country that doesn't have their collective heads up their butt regarding nutrition:

I'm not a fan of "high" fat, but I am very much a fan and believer in a full fat diet.  When you buy low fat products the food makers have to change things up a bit.  Fat is what flavors food.  If they don't replace that flavor people won't buy their products.  Check out your salad dressings, yogurts, etc., when they remove the fat they replace it with sugar.

The human body requires dietary fat to survive.  Fat soluble vitamins, etc.  We do not need sugar.  Sugar is like cocaine to an obese person.

Thru my ins and outs of food.  I have pretty much learned that the processed foods of whatever isnt really good for ya.  I have learned that the chemicals to make it taste better and at the same time last is what is making people fat.  Just as you have said.   The body knows what real food does,  the chemical stuff just turns to fat .  its hard to relearn how to cook with real food especially when the stuff processed fits in a world where everyone is runnning around with no time left.

I did not actually intend to start a new thread.  I meant for this to go along with the other thread.  Sorry, not sure where I messed up~

I've been trying to eat healthier lately and have been tracking calories. My calorie intake is higher now than before, and I've noticed that the calories are coming from foods like yogurt and fruit. Also, I don't get full, so I end up eating a lot more food= more calories. So even though I'm eating a healthier diet, it seems like I won't lose weight. Please help me figure this out!
