Title: Greek Yogurt - Has anyone tried it.
Post by: Solars Toy on April 10, 2011, 08:19:44 PM
Last week while taking my daughter shopping for food at Sam's she wanted yogurt and was happy to see "Greek" yogurt.  She said she liked it alot better so I bought some for me too.

Once I got over the tanginess of it I have to admit I do like it.  It is not as sweet as other yogurt but I think it could grow on me.

Any other opinions on the stuff.

;D It is non fat which surprised me since it is so creamy almost like sour cream.

I have had it in Seattle.  It is ok but would not go out of my way for it.

My wife loves it. I like it too. I find it more rich that regular yogurt.

Its OK, but I just wish they still made a yogurt with full cultures, the stuff today is weak!

I haven't tried it yet, I really like the sweetness of regular yogurt.

I mixed regular yogurt with it, that made a marked improvement, but by itself, its not very sweet.

Your right you should at least try it.  Plus it has double the protein of other yogurts. Try the Chobani brand - it was better than the Brown Cow brand I bought at Sam's club.

So I guess I will be buying both for the house here in the future... :) :)

Well, I tried it, and I thought it was good. It's tart, and has a kick to it, I put some strawberries in the plain yogurt. So I'll be buying it now. It was the Chobani brand.

Sort of the tartness of sour cream.  I saw that Dannon has it too but think I will stick with the Chobani.  If you try other brands let me know how they taste.  :)

They do? I usually like Yoplait, but might pick up a tub and see how it is. I liked the Chobani so I'll stick with it.  ;)

I'm a huge fan. No fat, twice the protein, more stable probiotics. I've switched to Kroger brand which is effectively indistinguishable from the more expensive brands.

I finally tried the Dannon and it isn't bad.  Even Solar liked it.  Unfortunatetly we don't have Kroger where we are but you are right sometimes store brands are just as good if not better.  :)

I tried the Dannon and really didn't like it as much as Chobani. We don't have a Kroger here, so I'll try our store brands and see. What I've been doing is mixing fruit with it, such as strawberries, blueberries, peaches and such. I really like it.
