Not only in California but in the midwest also. Never heard of this happening before.... interesting.

Its like we live in Nazi Germany or something

T, I hate to say it, but it is painfully obvious that big AG has found a way to get the Fed on its side and kill the competition, they want to force these farms out of business so as to enable them to buy up the few remaining farms in America.

The sad thing is, when the economy crashes, there will be very few people left that even know how to milk a cow, let alone grow their own food.
Very few of us will have the ability of self sustenance.

In just one generation, people have become dependent on the gov for their very existence. :(
It is becoming more and more frustrating putting up with big brother
when you read or hear about these types of unwanted (and sometimes
unlawful) raids on people just trying to make a living and prosper.

Makes me wonder what will they want, what will they take and how will
I react if it ever happens to me? I hope it never does.

If it was easy everyone would be do'in it.

As Reagan said, it only takes one generation to lose our freedoms.
At the current rate, I'd say 25 years or less and the sheep will see it as a consequence of not doing as the Gov demands.
Much in the way we allowed smoking laws, they will easily allow more intrusion into their daily lives.

I hate to say it but your right. I think you may be a little generous with your time frame though.  :(

So much depends on the swing of the pendulum, if we are moving back to the right as a Country, then we can fend off an oppressive gov, if not and we move left, then all bets are off.

You know, at first I thought that might be the case -- big ag prodding Uncle Sam to do its bidding. But after looking into it a right smart, I don't think so. I think instead it's just one more case of big government doing what big government just can't stop doing.

I see the same pattern in so many branches of big government. The layers of bureaucracy, the rules written by the system and for the system, the lack of any connection to common sense or real-world circumstances.

Right now where I live, we have a similar situation. Back in 1995, one unknown person complained to our county health department about a bad smell coming from a local ditch. Today, we're having a $6-million sewage treatment plant shoved down our throats by the Ohio EPA because of that one complaint. It will serve about 150 homes. After I pay about $3,000 for a tap, I'll get the privilege of paying a mere $55+ per month for a central sewer I don't even want. I have surveyed the neighbors and can't find a single one who wants it. For some reason, we can't get central water at ANY price -- the ground well water here is horrible -- but we just can't avoid the damn sewer pipes.

I'm gonna guess here that it was more FED EPA than OH.....IO EPA.

No facts, just guessing for lack of info but its usually the fed that
mandates this type of work. :( >:(

Based on my investigations, I'd say you're more right than wrong. In this case it's the federal EPA serving as a model for the state agency. Many states have their own EPA's that are essentially modeled after the federal original, and they've all learned things from one another along the way. Chief among those things was how to evade the rule of law.

(In a weird way, it makes sense that they should share ways to evade the rule of law, since their very existence is completely outside any authorizing law.)

I haven't yet seen the insidious hand of the USEPA in our local sewer brouhaha, but its model is apparent in the overbearing grasp of the OEPA. I was STUNNED to find that OEPA has written rules for itself that excuse it from even considering the financial/economic impact to the victims of its edicts.

You're probably correct, in that little entities of your local EPA seem to see themselves as having the power of the Federal Gov behind them, even though they are just an extension of the State powers.

I could see these little so called do gooders easily over stepping their authority, especially when there is no one to oversee them.
