Not only in California but in the midwest also. Never heard of this happening before.... interesting.

I had read about this raid in California before.  My thought here is that it is my body and if I want to eat something like paste and organic dirt that should be my choice not the governments.  Most of these people understand the risk of eating some of these products but the benefits outweigh the risks that may be involved in their opinion.
My God we are adults and I wish Uncle Sam would stop treating us like idiots.  8)

We as a society lay down and allow the government to dictate drug policy to us, why shouldn't they expect the same level of servility regarding our food?

The line between food and drug is actually rather vague, there's no reason to expect to be treated like adults with one when we ask to be treated like children with the other.

it is incredible to me,,, I can understand it in a way, but co-ops? and what about the people whom are raised on 100% raw, or have converted to for many years...

How did man ever make it this far, without the FDA protecting us from our very own ignorance.

I try to use as few drugs as possible.  I am one of those people who will suffer through a headache or take a non-traditional alternative.  The only meds I take on a regular basis is thyroid.  I was told I had no alternate for this one.  But I try for everything else.... :)

I hold Lady Obama responsible. As part of her commie anti-eating campaign, she had declared war on desserts. Just don't eat dessert says the svelte little Lady. Well, of course raw milk and cream makes excellent ice cream as well as evil, fattening cheeses. This will not stand! This must be stopped! There is nothing more important than indiscriminate eating of fats!

Of course, the real problem for any progressive radical is freedom of choice and self reliance. Folks want to drink milk that tastes like our grandparents' naturally enjoyed it. They survived it; they even thrived! The cheese made from raw milk is delicious. It costs a bit more, so a farmer might actually be able to make a living...and not be eternally indebted to banks and gov't agencies...that won't do, No, no,no.

Lesson: Pointy headed professorial fakers make terrible presidents. Their heads are stuck in books (or even darker places, apparently). They often are quite unfamiliar with reality. Woodrow Wilson, anyone? Obama thinks, gee, aren't we (yes that was the royal "we") enlightened! Grin, grin. Solemn nod, solemn nod. We have saved those little people from themselves yet again. He happily heads off to Never, Never Land, never realizing he is crushing another enterprising American because some report told him how dangerous raw milk can be.

I'd like to quote bugs bunny here..."What a Ma-roon!"   :))

Lady wide body is changing the food pyramid to this.

~snip~

First Lady Michelle Obama and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack today unveiled My Plate, the government's new food icon. The new symbol looks like a dinner plate that is divided into four wedges. Two of those wedges are filled with fruits and vegetables, one contains protein and the fourth has whole grains. Beside the plate is a smaller circle -- representing low-fat dairy.

Instead of a pyramid, she changed it to, of all things, a Pie chart. ;D ;D ;D ;D

I see there photos at checkout stands. The brushwork done on those two in photos must have cost a bundle each time.   :o

My sister and her husband and children live in Missouri and operate a whole-food dairy. They have been repeated victims of FDA and USDA investigations and last year were "encouraged" by the "federal" government to recall every atom of merchandise they sold from the first of the year through August -- many tens of thousands of dollars worth of mostly cheese that had been distributed through buyer clubs literally all over the US and into some other countries. Over and above the obvious loss of profit, the cost of the recall itself staggered this four-family operation.

After the recall, USDA denied that it had ever even suggested that anything be recalled at all. Their position now is that my sister and her husband and their workers decided on their own to recall eight months' worth of production that had caused not one single complaint or illness.

Our benevolent "federal" government has decided that what we call "whole foods" are bad foods, and dairy products are receiving VERY special treatment. I suspect that it has less to do with any actual health issue, and more to do with the fact that small dairy farms, especially those who sell locally, are supposed to be immune from the interference of federal regulators.

My grandfather was a farmer who had dairy cows for the family's benefit, and he absolutely refused to drink processed milk. Even with a house full of visiting kids and grandkids raised on homogenized, pasteurized, and government-approved stuff, Gramps had his own special jug in the back of the fridge that held his raw cow's milk. Of course, he fell over dead... at age 85.

T, I hate to say it, but it is painfully obvious that big AG has found a way to get the Fed on its side and kill the competition, they want to force these farms out of business so as to enable them to buy up the few remaining farms in America.

The sad thing is, when the economy crashes, there will be very few people left that even know how to milk a cow, let alone grow their own food.
Very few of us will have the ability of self sustenance.

In just one generation, people have become dependent on the gov for their very existence. :(
