Just 6 pints of corn and 9 pints of salsa.
Not to bad for 1st batch of tomatoes.
Maybe 3 more runs to my fav corn farm and that will be done. The rest of my tomatoes I'll just cam em whole.
It's easier lol
12 jars of jam, 6 quarts more of tomatoes. Also did 4 experimental jars of pickled carrot, onion, jalapeno. I hope that works out... this weekend I have to do jalapeno jelly.
Anyone got canning going on? Looking for something different.
Now you guys just gave me a hint on what should I do with the tomatoes on the fridge.
I still have tomatoes lol. Just yanked the gardens and I have about 40 more green ones that I will let turn.
What are you going to can???
I don't know what innate urge causes me to want to grow and preserve food. I must have starved in a past life, or something.
It takes a lot of hard work and money to grow and preserve my garden.
I threw my back out digging potatoes last Fall, but there was no way I was going to leave them in the ground for the bugs to eat.
I am financially able to buy whatever foods I want, so I just don't get why I am so compelled to garden.
Oh!! A few years ago, I bought a greenhouse and now I can grow food almost year round. I love it.
I attempt a "basic" garden every year but unfortunately I never have the time for it.
This Spring will be different since I am finally retiring. No more 12 hours of my day being gone....
Toy
Congratulations on your upcoming retirement.
I hope you will be able to enjoy your gardening as much as I have enjoyed mine.
