Trying to lose some weight, right now I'm adapting to only eating 1-2 meals a day with around 1200-1500 calories. And I do exercise 30-60min every day.

My current girlfriend only eats one time in the day (though sometimes 2 times if she eats snacks/sweet) and she is very thin. But if she is very healthy or not I don't know, she is slim and in general good condition so I would guess yes.

Anyone know if fewer meals a day is harmful even if the calorie intake is small? The body from my experience can adapt to all eating patterns, I guess metabolic efficiency is highest when eating very small meals many times during the day. That will however mean a huge change in my lifestyle and daily routines. If I can achieve weight loss without harmful effects from only eating 1-2 times a day albeit slower than the efficient model then I will take that route.

I'm more of a grazer.  I eat several times a day, but small amounts.  I have trouble maintaining enough calories.  I've been lucky to have pretty good metabolism.  I do notice when I don't get enough protein.  It is the one thing that my body seems to crave the most.
The danger to America is not Barack Obama but the citizens capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency.

Dori is correct, the true diet of man has always been feast or famine, but we've always been grazers.
Several small meals a day is the healthiest approach, simply because it keeps your glucose balanced, otherwise you get spikes, which leads to lethargy during the day, and your body starts storing fat for when it requires sugars from lack of food.
So yes, graze if you want to lose weight and lean protein like fish and chicken will help tremendously.
