Feeling sick? Cold? Flu? - STAY HOME!!!

There, it's all in the friggin' subject line.   People who come to work, church or public gatherings knowing they're SICK, are not noble, not "ream players", "dedicated" - they're JERKS!

And for the braggard who says, "I haven't taken a SICK DAY in 20 years..."   Yeah, but everyone ELSE has, thanks to you!

It's a real JOY to have your kids get suddenly ill from a single public event, Church in this case, because some wonderful parent brought their wheezing, sniffling kid to church, and he/she grabbed every handle, tried to shake every hand after wiping his/her nose and honked like a Canada Goose after the Robotussin wore off 1/2hr into the service.

HINT!   Cough Syrup does NOT give immunity to the people you come in contact with!

I rarely get colds & flu as an adult.  Why?  Because I attended a public breeding ground for every "bug" on the face of the earth - public school, meh, I've probably had 10,000 variations of the common cold, in 12 years!

Please... got a sick kid, keep them home.

My daughter in law teaches 5 yro, as well as college, her husband has a compromised immune system.
I think she is finally having second thoughts.

I never get sick, but when Toy visits her daughter, she brings me back a surprise that usually lasts a few weeks. :glare:

Thanks to some kid - I missed Friday at work, and here I sit, SICK, sneezing & runny nose, all the aches and pains to go with it.

I'll still force myself outside, into the fresh air... to visit my ducks, say hello to the cows and a few minutes of entertainment by the pigs.
So much happens at first light on a farm.  Cat just nailed a mouse and brought it up to the house...  Steers-a-staring & glaring at me, the water tank probably has a skin of ice on it... Duckies are ...? where?   hiding or scouting for food... got a popper of popcorn for them!  Piggies sleep in.  Dogs *must* repost notes...  "I was here... and here... me again... here too... yup, it's me again..."

And wifey brings me a hot cup of English Breakfast TEA.  Life is good.  my nose rubbed raw & hurts from blowing.

Being sick isn't all that bad, I got the animals to entertain me.

Poor guy, just think of all the peace and quiet you could get in a city apartment.
Even sick, life is good.

Yes, even when I'm sick, I can still grab a hot cup of anything, and sit, bundled up by the fire down by the creek, with only the annoying sound of running water and a crackling fire.

Update: Since last post, Toy came home sniffling and today snorting like a newborn (cute) piglet.
And yes, I'm inevitably next in line to fall. No matter how much I plead she be careful, she forgets how germs work. :glare:

It got up to a few degrees above 50, so I bundled up and opened windows for fresh air.

Wish I had a fire place...  I could use that penetrating IR heat.  It just amazes me, how a tiny little virus and cripple a a big person and reduce them to a sneezing, shuttering lump of flesh.  This will pass, how soon, who knows.  I've gone years without anything, so, this just sucks.  Maybe tomorrow I'll feel good enough to get outside for a bit.

Sure like your Creek & Fire idea.   A Surf and Fire sounds even better.   ... besides, I could throw those used Kleenix right into it.

It's been 2 weeks, feeling much better, having forced myself to get up and work in isolation.

Oddly enough, I sure get chilled easily after having been sick - like my body can't adapt as fast to indoors/outdoors quickly.

Sure miss a fireplace for the winter months - that IR heat was so soothing.

You will also find as you get older it will happen more and more going inside from outside.  Also your old war wounds will show up more and more and last longer.  I just learn to live with it in the Winter.

Not only did I have it that week.  It came back last week again. Spent New Years/ our anniversary sick in bed. I do wear a mask 😷 to try and protect Solar from these bugs. I actually pick them up at work. Too many people come in coughing and sneezing.  I try not to be that marter.  Toy

Tis true. My saner half goes to great lengths to avoid spreading the bug, and these last two times I didn't get sick.

Back in the old days when I was a drinking person LOL my home remedy was 2 shots of brandy in a cup of coffee.   If that did not work it was 2 shots of brandy 1 shot of citric acid and some honey.

He offered me some of his apple pie moonshine.  My brother-in-law always recommends bourbon.   Jacks preferably.

I also like a Single malt Scotch, coming in out of a days work in the cold.

I don't think I have had moonshine in over 55 years.   LOL

Apple pie moonshine is nothing like the straight stuff. Very sweet.
