Title: Did You Fall For The Antioxidat Hype?
Post by: Solar on December 05, 2012, 06:58:27 AM
Every five years or so, something comes along that marketing companies latch onto, and a public too busy, or simply too gullible to research, falls into line and believes it.

This has always been an issue with me, I never take anything at face value and the antioxidant craze is one of them, along with the magnet scam five years prior to that.

Here is an excellent article on the whole craze, a bit long, but concise and short when you consider the info brought to the table.
But if you don't want to read it, in summary, it tells you what we all know to be true, eat a balanced diet of fruits and vegetables etc.
Fact is, their is no magic bullet, but who knows, maybe blissful ignorance has a placebo effect on the gullible...

I'm not trying to be insulting here, just want people to stop swallowing everything they see on TV, or read in a hyped article, it's one of the traits that sets Conservatives apart from libs and their emotional view of life.

Antioxidents taste good, they are in my two favorite pie fillets, pumpkin and blueberries.  I don't do fads like "superfoods".  I know a lot of people are swayed by that type of thing though.

Same here....
I've never been one to follow any kind of fad, for one thing it always costs far more regardless, and two, I hate being one of the mindless sheep.
