Title: Coffee, coffee, coffee...
Post by: Solars Toy on December 20, 2014, 07:13:27 AM
There are times I wonder if it is coffee that runs through my veins but then I came from a hard core coffee drinker - my Dad.  The man would drink coffee from the time he got up until well after dinner.  With that in mind Solar has spoiled Toy with a new toy.

Makes the best coffee I have had in a long time.  It is also quick and easy.

It looks more like a breast pump than a coffeemaker.  :tounge: What's it called?

Nah. That'd be like banging a green stick around the inside of a barrel.  :tounge: (No offense.)

It's called and Aero Pump.  A breast pump is more difficult to use.  (Yes I am speaking from experience.)  Toy

Ah, you mean the Aeropress (http://www.amazon.com/Aeropress-Coffee-and-Espresso-Maker/dp/B0047BIWSK) coffee maker.

You have to admit, it really doesn't look much like a coffee machine.

My younger daughter, who travels quite a bit (India, Egypt, South Sudan, China, Thailand...) has used one of these for a couple of years. Good coffee (she thinks of it as "Vitamin C, the Energy Vitamin" - something I taught her, :woot: ), durable and reasonable size for travelling. She's attending a university in a large city in central China, and buys whole beans (no StarChucks there), which she grinds and brews.

I like the Vitamin C - permission to use that?   I said that to Solar this morning - as long as you use good coffee it will be a great cup of coffee.

Yep - AeroPress.  If I had gotten up from my comfy chair and actually walked to the kitchen I could have got it right.  See why I need more coffee.

Definitely. And sugar is Vitamin S, another energy vitamin.

It sounds kind of snobbish-decadent, but the good thing about having a good coffee maker (and a grinder) is that you can adjust and control the quality of what you get. And if you were a regular at Starbucks, Peet's, or Dutch Bros, that Aeropress will pay for itself in a few months.

I've found that Vitamin B is actually beer.
