Post by: Elfie on July 03, 2013, 08:11:17 AM
1 crushed clove of garlic
2 tsp fine chopped thyme or 1 tsp dried
1/4 tsp pepper
4 tblspn melted butter (I used Smart Balance)
juice of 2 lemons
1/4 cup minced fresh parsley
Pre heat oven to 400 degrees.
Mix the first 3 ingredients together.
Place one bay leaf inside the trout.
Oil up a oven to table baking dish lay the fish in flat.
spread the garlic mix evenly over each fish.
Pour the melted butter over the fish.
Bake in oven for 10 to 12 minutes, bast it at least twice.
When its done sprinkle with lemon juice and parsley.

Good stuff,,, I only did 2 trout, but used all of the garlic mix...

I shall be trying this recipe on Cod next week!

I propose the creation of a recipe thread. I'm always looking out for new, easy, and healthy recipes.

I'm not a fan of adding garlic to fish.  Nor of adding onions to fish, but this recipe for Salmon Creamed With Apples has been haunting me;

from the culinary page of The Mendeleyev Journal
http://russianreport.wordpress.com/russian-cuisine-main-salads-soups-desserts/main-dishes/ (http://russianreport.wordpress.com/russian-cuisine-main-salads-soups-desserts/main-dishes/)

Salmon fillets without skin and bones – 600 g Russian Food
Green apples – 2
Onions – 2
Cream – 2 cups
Salt, pepper, cayenne pepper – to taste.

Preparation:
Cut the salmon into fillets.
Apples should be cleaned, then cut in half, cored and cut into slices.
Chop onion into half rings.
Create boat or bowl of foil with high edges – like a small bowl.
Place the fish inside and then position the apple slices between the fillets
Spread the onion evenly
Add salt and pepper
Pour cream over the salmon
Cover with foil
Place on the grill and cook 6-7 minutes until the apple slices are soft
