Lets be honest, this is going to hit Blue City Shitholes the hardest.
The one in our community doesn't have to worry about locking up products because of rampant theft.

CVS is laying off about 5,000 employees in a cost-cutting effort, the pharmacy chain confirmed Tuesday. Reductions will occur in "non-customer facing positions," primarily affecting its corporate staff, according to a statement given to CNN. CVS said it is "evolving to adapt to new consumer health needs and expectations" and that it "must take difficult steps to reduce expenses."

It seems to me they over expanded. They got into an expansion war with Walgreen's and now they are paying for it.

This is a liberal created problem. As these stores pull out of those areas where shoplifting is not controlled we will hear the term racist thrown about again. Not too long ago Walmart closed down a group of "non-profit" stores, one of them in liberal Austin where one could just watch the merchandise walk out. Guess why the liberals claimed it was closed down? I would like to hear the liberal answer for who are we going to work for when all the private companies are gone? Do they understand we all can not work for the government?

I think it has everything to do with theft in blue city shitholes.
This is the perfect time to dump stores getting trashed daily.

Just go back a couple of years.

Yep, all part of the plan! And guess who will claim only they can save these shitholes?
Yep, govt.
This is why we need civics taught in schools again and why economics must be front and center as is math and English.
Literally, the two subjects the left has been attacking, by claiming Ebonics is just a cultural issue that needs to be taught and math is racist.

But we'll see where the stores are hardest hit soon enough.
But you raise a good point, so I did some research and found this is more like a pandemic of industry caused by 'Bidenomics'.
Check out this long ass list of companies laying people off.

I think this is the driver for the layoffs -- the article said the majority are in corporate non-customer facing positions; sounds like some significant belt tightening.  However, store closings are likely next, especially where shoplifting is prevalent... FWIW I stay out of the chain drug stores, I deal with a locally-owned pharmacy that has everything I need.

Selling pharmaceuticals is obviously a very profitable endeavor. Now all the grocery stores have a pharmacy. It makes one wonder how overpriced drugs are.

I do believe part of the reason for pharmaceuticals cost flying upwards is because most customers have no idea what the cost is. As long as the insurance co-pay is low, or reasonable, most customers only see the high cost as a conversation piece. And of course we will hear those same customers complaining about the high cost of medical insurance. But what about solutions? How about for starters pharmaceutical companies can not pay/donate/give/bribe/blackmail any $ to doctors for "using" their products.

How about tort reform too?

How about get rid of 2/3rds of the lawyers?

The pharma racket has to be the most convoluted and egregious Mob schemes in American history, much like the man made global warming hoax, or the lie that "Green energy" is cleaner.

The pharma racket has fingers in every Uniparty members pocket, a way of making sure this money laundering scheme never dies.
I can understand the cost of research into new meds may come at a price, but it's also obvious many of the greatest discoveries or rather, cures cures have been stifled over profit.

My meds alone cost over fourteen grand a month, but they also know that this income has a short life span of profit, but a cure would only be a one time profit, so which meds do you think will get the nod?

This has Obozo's prints all over it , where taking over health care was a guaranteed form of control for the Marxists.

Nailed it. This is a problem the republicans could have fixed, told us they were going to fix, campaigned on the promise to fix, and then did nothing. I often wondered what kind of government would we have if corporations, unions, organizations, etc. could not donate to political nominees, only registered voters could donate to their candidate.

Exactly!
I remember Clinton touting how big business had abandoned the GOP for the DNC, then he signed NAFTA.
That was the beginning of the end, and all with the help of the GOP. :sneaky:
