This is just a reminder that corporations are not in business to supply employment opportunities. They are in business to earn profits. There is an evolution going on in the retail industry and this is normal. I have read they are trying to place the employees and there will be a severance package for those who cannot be placed.
Took long enough.
One of the stores in the Sacto valley was long overdue, the neighborhood went to shit years ago, but Sams stayed, houses boarded up, Sams stayed, homicides, Sams stayed, increased police force, crime continued to rise, hookers on the street, open drug dealing, shopping carts were first homes for many, and now, finally after 20 years of neighborhood degradation, they're finally bailing and leaving it to the jungle to sort out what to do with a 100 thousand square foot empty shell.
