The world's biggest appliance maker also on Friday cut its 2011 earnings outlook drastically and reported third-quarter results that missed expectations, hurt by higher costs and a slowdown in emerging markets. Shares fell 12 percent in midday trading.

The company, whose brands include Maytag and KitchenAid, has, like other appliance makers, been squeezed by soft U.S. demand since the recession and rising costs for materials such as steel and copper. Due to its size, Whirlpool's performance provides a window on the economy because it indicates whether consumers are comfortable spending on big-ticket items.

Whenever telemarketers call I try to talk to them about off subject matter. My aches and pains. How my cats are fighting. Who won on Jeopardy that day. It's fun to listen to them try to get off the phone.

I did that a few times and it works sooo well!
I pretended to have a hearing problem and repeated everything they said, only with a disgusting interpretation, then I said I was going to call the police and report them for sex crimes.

They hung up. :))

We get recorded calls 99% of the time.  From credit card co.  And bill collectors for who had the phone number before us.  I call them back and tell then she does not live at this number and the just hang up on me.  They have been calling for 3 years now.   I think she keep giving out her old phone number for everything as they about 20 calls a month.   >:(

You can file a complaint for harassment.
Call your State for info.
