Retail giant Target agreed this week to pay $18.5 million to settle claims by 47 states and the District of Columbia and resolve a multi-state investigation into a massive data breach in late 2013.

All I got was a stinkin' letter, telling me my credit card was compromised.

Not surprised. Most class action lawsuits are for the revenue enhancement for lawyers.

It's a money transfer system. 

I pay retailers higher prices - the retailer pays higher premiums to the Insurance company - the Insurance company pays lawyers (repeat).   In effect, the lawyers just got a settlement from ME!

So what your saying is the lawyers get $18 Million and the customers split the .5 Million.

not exactly, the lawyers get it all, we "customers" have the satisfaction of Target getting "Targeted".
