Very funny list! Basically about 3/4 of the liberal arts majors are expensive roads to low paying jobs.

If you cut out math and science and people who are doing pre law or pre med or going on to get their doctorates and teach and then it's pretty darned close to 100%.

We need more engineers. We need more math and science majors. We need more nurses and skilled trades people. We do not need more gender studies majors who think you should be paying for their education and money is no object.
If you believe big government is the solution then you are a liberal. If you believe big government is the problem then you are a conservative.

The smart people know this, the Lemmings will ask for another handout when they realize their liberal arts degree turned out to be worthless.

You are wise to recognise this.

I have no problem with the right schooling.  But on the other hand education is not a right!   A Liberal arts degree is a cop-out for a degree in this day and age.  It is like have a Associate degree, back in the 50's and 60's if even that.

The best educational value out there today is community college. Nothing gives you as good boost to your earning power per educational dollar spent. But it's not sexy and you can't have dunken anonymous sex hundreds of miles from mommie and daddie so it isn't as popular of a choice.

Maybe if you vote to increase other people's taxes enough then you can change things.

You guys realize that the list only deals with "pay."  In other words, teachers are often not paid that great, but when you throw in their pension and benefits plus the fact that their day ends at 3 PM and they have no weekends or holidays and they get three months off every year for their entire career ...now you're talking.  That last point is the most important because for some reason people love to compare a nine-month teacher's salary to a twelve-month salary for someone else to claim that teachers are "underpaid."

Not being a college graduate and only having a few college credits to my name, it was a surprise to me to learn that some of the better paying college degrees have maximum class size. Frequently, it is the foreign students who can pay better that fill up the classes. If that's so, it doesn't seem right.

IMO- college degrees are a scam. I was recently talking to a recruiter, and he flat out told me that he couldn't hire me because I do not have a degree, any degree(accredited or not). 30 years of experience in the field doesn't seem to matter, it's the silly piece of paper.

Uh, what?  You've been brainwashed here.  Stop and ask yourself, which super filthy rich foreign students have you seen coming over here stealing our college slots by slapping down wads of cash?

That is more reflective of how crappy our education system is.  That is, our liberal teachers are doing so great that they've completely devalued a high school education.  It is literally meaningless to have graduated high school since you could do that and be illiterate (no joke).  Therefore, employers now demand that employees have college degrees.  Pretty soon the minimum requirement will be some sort of advanced, post-baccalaureate degree.

I left high school in '76. I was bored out of my mind. I joined the Army and found my calling. Early in '77, I was ordered to take the GED exam. Yeah, 4 hours of mind-numbing school questions, but I passed. In fact, I passed with a grade high enough to be awarded a high school diploma instead of the GED diploma.
College degrees are not a sign of intelligence, or even of being competent in a field of study. It's just a piece of paper stating that the holder has been indoctrinated in XXX subject matter for XXX years. I don't know how many times that I corrected a Medical Doctor when I was running clinics as a Paramedic.
I've recently changed my cover letter of my resume to read,"If you are looking for a degree, look no further because I am not selling you a degree. What I am selling is 30+ years of experience."

Let them eat that for awhile!

The one degree that sticks out as being the worst is ......journalism. Damn ya think! Those types only write what they are told therefore it takes no intelligence to be a 'parrot.'

Damn skippy Mr Ford. After graduatating an accredited university with a couple of degrees my mom informed me the you are now going to get your real degree......through real life. How right she was.
I was attending through the old GI Bill therefore only I and the VA rep cared about my grades. What was scary was listening to the other students and how they were wasting their parents money.....they could have cared less about finding a job in their field of education.
I thought I was wrong one time but I was mistaken.
