History tells us this deal, like all the others, will not hold. It is hard for a room full of liars to reach a long term standing deal. That being said, it is another reminder that we should do everything possible to become energy independent from those hugs in OPEC. However, as I write this oil is up over $2.00 for the day. We will soon be seeing the increase at the pump.

Actually the oil mkt loves stability, so investors will buy stock and prices will increase, but only as long as OPEC can keep this snowflake intact.
Any heat from any one nation and the deal will melt, as well if US fracking increases output, the snowflake melts, Venezuela increases output because it's in dire straits, Russia makes demands one way or the other, China makes a bold move, the flake evaporates.
Expect this deal to collapse by mid winter.

All the farmers I know will load up on diesel fuel, 6.000 to 10.000 gals.  Before the end of next month.  There bring in equipment now not in use and will be working on it through the Fall and Winter months.  The field work is about done in my area.

For a couple of days, Diesel was cheaper than Gas (due to the pipeline being shut down).
Low Sulfur Diesel is $2.09, off-road should be about $1.84.

Good time to fill that tank!

Seasonal plays a part in it, but recent history shows OPEC strains to keep everyone quelled no more than a few months at a time.
Their biggest enemy is the world economy which won't be improving anytime soon so there's no demand for incereased output, and now Deutsche bank is in trouble so expect trouble with the Euro.
Financially it will be an interesting winter, one OPEC won't weather well.

As their people don't work and they live off the government it will be interesting.

Let.s not forget the wild card, Iran. Once they spend Obama's gifts they will need more revenue to fund their transgressions. I am really surprised OPEC even continues to exist although it mostly by name only now.

The discovery comes less than a month after Apache (APA) laid claim to a multi-billion oil discovery in Texas.

It has been a week since my original post. Oil is basically unchanged. It is proof positive that OPEC is a paper towel now. Only we, the USA, can give them more power by NOT developing all our resources.

Yep, that's my point, each individual player has their own best interests at heart and will burn the others at the first opportunity.
Think of these people being the buggy whip industry of today with a monopoly on the market.
Anyone can buy a cheap buggy whip from the open market, problem is, there is a glut of whips sitting in tankers off shore waiting for the price to go up, and here we have a bunch of hostile nations hoarding what they consider a monopoly on buggy whips/oil supply.
