Finally, after 4 years of skyrocketing healthcare costs, mine dropped $4 a month.

That's right, it dropped to $1284 a month from $1288.

The Premium is $392 per pay check, or $784 a month, but because the Deductible just doubled, from $3000 to $6000, we're opened a HSA (Health Savings Account) to pay the deductible, or $466 a month to the HSA.  Only after we've paid $6000 of "qualifying care" does the 80% coverage kick in.... to cover 80% of the "negotiated rate".

"Negotiated rate"...?   Yeah, the insurance company tells the doctor, that a Stress Test, EKG & Sonagram of your heart is only worth $800, not the $1000 the doctor billed them for.  So I get to pay the $200 difference, then 80% of $800 is applied to my $6000 deductible ($640)... well, actually I pay the entire $1000 bill, but only $640 is "counted" toward reaching the $6000.   Neat trick, eh?

Once I reach that $6000 mark, probably around $10,000 in out-of-pocket-expenses... then the insurance will kick in and pay $640 of the $1000 bill @ 80% of the negotiated rate... make sense!?  Yeah, I thought so!

Obama was right, our premium indeed dropped, $4 a month, or $48 a year...  Insurance completely SUCKS though.

4 years ago, it was a shocking $318 a month, which had a 20% copay from day one, and literally EVERYTHING was covered.

It gets even better!   I work for a company that is 100% "self-insured", we don't "buy" insurance from anyone.  We pay whatever it costs, out of pocket.  But, it's comforting to know, if I ever contract Ovarian Cancer, or Wifey has Prostrate problems, we're covered... at 80% of the "contracted rate", which works out to 64% of insurance coverage - AFTER we've paid out about $10,000.  Should I declare myself a Lesbian, and want a sex change, that's probably 100% covered, or my wifey's contraceptive pills (though she hasn't had a baby in a dozen years of completely unprotected sex, I think she's PAST child bearing age.. duh!).

My Mortgage is cheaper than my Health Insurance, but strangely enough, here in America, there is no "Affordable Mortgage Act" I'm required to buy, yet, I need a roof over my head.  If Hillary was elected, she'd probably call it, "Affordable Hillary Housing"...
