Title: MINING: Start up IPO's anyone?
Post by: BILLY Defiant on December 19, 2011, 06:51:17 PM
Anybody speculating in Mining IPO start ups?

Last Mining company I bought two years ago was Helca(ticker HL)....they did well, still going strong.

Been looking at some in Canada.

Very speculative play. Given the higher relative extraction costs in recent years, it would seem to me than any mining investment is a bet on the assumption that the world economy is going to continue to grow.

Not a sure bet in my book.  ;)

Always a bit of a gamble of course, rising fuel costs are a factor.

Aussie mines continue to be a winner, China being the biggest buyer.

I'm guessing the Canadians may do more business with the Chinese in other areas beside the oil industry. :-\ ?????

Agriculture would be a natural play for China-Canda trade. Ditto for forrestry.
