My husband has an MBA but because Norway doesnt really like foreigners he cant get a Job here. We had been planning to move to the US but then covid19 happened and the exonomy tanked. Im a nurse so I suspect I could find work (Im not too picky, Id work in a nursing home, jail, hospice etc where typically not that many nurses want to work, they want to work in the hospital). My husband isnt too picky either, he would work mostly any Job he can get. But is it so bad you cant even get a job even if you will take literally anything?

How bad is the economy in the US right now? Should we wait? maybe he should go first and Try to get a Job before we move our entire family to a economy in ruins (with some riots to boot). The lack of oppurtunity in Norway is pretty depressing though.

The economy is fine, the media is lying! If you want to work, there's plenty of work. Dakotas fracking is booming, we need fire fighters bad here in the West and it pays well.
You have plenty of options and it's only going to get better over the years to come.

I am with Solar. While not back to pre-covid conditions the economy is improving. If you are an RN you could throw a dart at US map and get a job anywhere it hits. Your hubby may have a little more difficult time depending on his career field. You have a lot of choices, but just mark off any states controlled by democrats.

Excellent point!!! Avoid Leftists states at all costs. Again though, with the exception of fighting fires. And if he can operate a dozer, all the better.

Do you need a lot of training for that? In nroway you need like a 4 year degree for anything I swear 😂😂 my husband would be willing to get training/extra education to get a Job in the us though, so long as its not like a 4 year bachelors and mountains of debt involved

Skilled craftsmen and blue collar folks do not need a 4 year degree. He has plenty of education.

I have a D-7 Cat dozer, right now I could contact the USFS and tell them, they'd come out, pick it and me up and deliver us to the fire lines.
It really is that simple, and yes, there is paper work, but they'll expedite it for you.

He could pick up a used dozer, or even rent one and be hired on the spot. It pays extremely well.
But like any field, if you know what you're doing, he could get a job the next day in his chosen field, it is definitely a laborers/skilled laborers paradise.

All skilled labor has bailed on many states, so he has quite a few options.

Our country is currently populated by too many over educated, indebted numbskulls. If your husband can do "stuff" he will be fine.

Sooooo True!!! Skilled labor is the way to go, the country has far too many bachelor of arts degrees, and not a one of them ever held an actual job beyond govt in the last 15 years.

All he needs is a phone an an ad offering his services. No license required. I, as a jack of all trades as well, did it for decades to supplement my income.
If he's any good, word will travel fast and he'll have plenty of work.
