Title: Finding Long-Term Value Stocks
Post by: wizard on May 15, 2014, 10:05:31 PM
I wrote this over the past few days.

3 Important Factors When Seeking Long-Term Value Stocks (http://newsblaze.com/story/20140515163945nnnn.nb/topstory.html)

Twitter, Facebook, and Netflix are buzz-worthy. Two lost one third of their price in the past five months, Facebook half of that, a significant dip for investors who bet on them near the end of last year.

These are fast-growth Internet stocks, but they now fast loss too. Money is coming out of them and going into value stocks.

How do you find value stocks that you can buy and hold, like Warren Buffett?

I agree with those three assessments in your article.  Each plays-into relieving the crowd of their money via timing.

Bic (Lighters) is a good example.  In the late 70's I was saying 'buy', because the legalization of marijuana is pending.  But I didn't think cigarettes would become taboo.  The stock dropped, but recovered nicely.  Now, with legalization in-progress (State-by-State, which really makes timing easier to gauge), the value's gained around 50% since 1980-ish.

With Colorado beginning to have problems, look what happened to the stock at the end of April:

I'd still sit on it.

I've been out of the stock market for a while now.  I just don't trust any of it at all.

It's you trusting your picks and predictions.  They can't beat ya, if you believe-in your research.  Only you can misfire.  That includes timing.  There's smoke-n-mirrors happening all the time but you're operating in a bubble they can't touch.  -With a trusted broker.  'They' can only siphon percentages-of-pennies from your shares' value.  That's the equivalent of you tipping a cocktail-waitress at the casino.

But she gave me the clap.

But she gave me the clap.

And I applaud her for it.
