Officially, that's the case.

That's from the source document that George Will used to write the op-ed you posted.

Now, if you want to talk about Total Federal, State, Local, contract, grant, military, and post office employees, it's a different story.

So again, we've already agreed on the estimated total.

Where do you want to take us from here?
How thick are you? You made the claim Gov hadn't changed much since the 60s, and Possum proved your charts to be a total misleading scam. The govt did in fact grow exponentially, Congress just found a work around. Do you agree or not?

We were speaking of Federal employees.

I thought you'd be smart enough to distinguish between Federal, and State, and Local governments.

Think of it this way, UPS and FEDEX and USPS all provide logistics. But they're not the same company.

The President, The Governor, and the Mayor are all in government executives, but don't work for the same level of government.

Did you figure out where you wanted to steer the thread now that we know how many employees there are?

The only difference is end of product pay. As a Defense Contractor, I am forced to play by the rules set out by the Fed, be it hourly pay, or hiring guidelines, the Fed sets the the field and I must work within it.
Fact is, even though I'm a contractor doing business, be it state or Federal, I'm still an employee of the Federal Govt.

Are you seriously trying to deny this connection?

Okay, and we've accounted for contractors in this thread and came to an agreement of how many Federal employees (direct and indirect) there are.

So, where do you want to take the thread from here?

You were just proven the govt did actually grow since the 60s, but using strict accounting lines, were able to disguise the truth.
So the question is, are you in agreement that, in fact, the Fed did grow?

Define: Fed
and
Define: grow

That will allow me to answer the question directly.

In direct employees, no. And the reason for that is explained in the study that was previously posted:

Wrong!!! Just because they weren't directly hired to the govt payroll, they were still being paid by the US Taxpayer. Were they not?

This thread is titled "Federal employment numbers". Those numbers are what they are.

We also covered the amount of people that are paid by the US taxpayer in post 11.

So, now that we know the numbers. Where do we go from here?

Are we going to shift this thread into one that discusses reforms?

joe, the whole point was that you can not use government graphs to prove anything because they play with the numbers. Nod your head if you understand.
