Com$umer Confidence
« on: May 07, 2017, 01:42:22 PM »
Liberals probably have some other lame excuse for the sudden change in consumer buying habits.

We noticed - and have proof, in increased SALES, people are spending money, unlike the last 2 years, consumer demand is -UP-.

The products we manufacture and sell at weekend "craft" and "flea" market type of events has increased over 25% from the previous years.
One particular item which was a slow, steady mover, has sold out twice this year, even after raising our prices.

The stuff we sell is priced & marketed for people with low incomes and fixed incomes, not essential stuff, but the kind of things you probably wouldn't buy unless you felt relative comfortable spending extra cash.

Thank you, Donald Trump for the "bump" in sales, maybe we'll break even this year!

Many products and even components are not manufactured in the US but in foreign countries.

We just got back from another craft faire, and fell just a tiny bit short of doubling last year's sales.

The *one* item we "resell", buy wholesale, mark-up a small amount and resell is a book, everything else we manufacture.
When the current stock of books are sold, we're done with it - there's another vendor who sells books, he's going to sell them instead.

We have only had 2 special orders to build a specific item over the last 4 years.  We have 2 this year, and a 3rd wanting to see & feel the finished product, before he buys.  No problem, we'll build & demonstrate, and probably nail down a few more orders.

Talking with the other vendors, and we all sell different items, everyone is saying the same thing, this is looking like a really good year, people are spending money again.   A couple of guys purchased an inexpensive (but high profit margin) item on the way out the door, and remarked, I came and spent ALL THE MONEY I had on me - all the CASH they were carrying.  That brings smiles to vendors, when people bring CASH and spend it all, with a smile.

Thank you Donald Trump!

What we planned for, and built one product line for the year - based on previous years, we have sold out of twice already.  Last night we were up till 11pm, building at the last minute, 18 units, and promptly sold 10 of them today!  Ordinarily, we might sell 3, and call it a good day.   At this rate, I might run through my entire stock of parts to build, before the year is over.

Thank you Donald Trump!

BTW, all of the components are made-in-the-USA, except for velcro strips.  One of the component's construcition is a highly specialized process, made in Menominee Falls, WI & across several plants in Massachusetts - made-to-order....

Thank you Donald Trump!
