Caliburger To Use First Robot Burger Flipper
« on: February 17, 2018, 10:30:13 AM »
Of course, if Flippy is successful, it will unleash the first wave of layoffs that could amount to hundreds of low-wage millennial burger flippers at CaliBurger’s California locations from the second half of 2018 through 2019. Then after that, a much larger second wave of layoffs could amount to hundreds of thousands if not millions of layoffs as major food and dining corporations will be forced to automate their kitchen lines.

But don’t tell Trump that a majority of the jobs added over the past 12 months have been employment in food services and drinking places, he’ll just call that fake news, as his administration is about to feel the wrath of a tech-induced surge of unemployment leading into the next elections in 2020.

Stupid people are doing away with entry level jobs.  No one to blame but themselves thinking they should be getting paid more than they are worth.

IF they would like more money get out and get a higher paying job or go back to school for a higher paying job.

Industrial evolution and technology is eventually good for the economy and the masses. There is always some short term pain and some folks do not adapt. I spent a lot of time working in SC and see the remnants of the textile industry that went away. Some little "mill towns" still have the houses folks lived in who worked in those mills. Most of these towns are in middle and Upstate SC. It was terrible at the time. Now the Upstate is booming as BMW and accompanying business have moved into the state with much better jobs. People have "escaped" being prisoners the mill way of life where there was false security but no opportunity for advancement. The key is a little personal responsibility to adapt.

I have found in all my years on earth, this saying is true even today.  "When one door closes another opens."   Yes it is your "responsibility to adapt."

It's funny now in hindsight, but ALL the jobs lost in the past were eventually replaced with more and better paying jobs.
Even grease monkies are gone, all self service now, but those with a skill found better jobs in construction, and then illegals took those jobs, so those guys found better paying jobs as well.

I watched as construction was being taken over, and a lot of the guys I worked with were already planning their future out of the field.
Most of these guys either opened businesses like me or moved on to greener pastures and more secure jobs.
People hate change, and no one hates it more, than the morons that create it, Libs, it's because of their actions, we have to adapt, they helped the Dim party flood the nation with illegals, then bitch the loudest about entry level pay and lack of jobs.

Talk about stupid, this level of thinking is akin to shooting one's self in the foot, then suing the gun manufacturer over lack of warnings on the weapon itself.
I think it's time we outlawed liberals for their our own good.

Do these things have sensors?

Because, my concern is a grease covered sensor affecting the cooking process. And, we all know how things don't get cleaned well in the food industry.

No, most are preprogrammed based on temp and time, though I have no doubt a more autonomous unit is on its way very soon.
