If people are being paid $15 an hour, there are some expectations that us consumers expect along with that.

Feel free to post them here...

I expect you to know what you are selling. Don't tell me you don't know what is in the item I am about to order and eat.

I expect you make my food EXACTLY how I request for it to be done. EXACTLY. If I request my sandwich to be layered in a unusual manner, I expect it that way with no attitude.

I expect EVERYTHING to be clean. The table, the chair, the counter, EVERYTHING. Clean it yourself. Don't be told to clean it everytime. I came on clean. I expected to leave clean.

If you came in my establishment and started demanding all this shit, I'd throw your ass out and give my employee a break for having to put up with your bull shit.
My employees are not your slave to order around, they are not paid to meet your spoiled ass whims. And yeah, I'd make a spectacle out of your ass so all my customers could see that this kind of attitude is not welcome in my establishment, we're all people together, regardless of station in life.

 Not only would your employees appreciate you doing that, but the customers would too. Too many customers think they are the ones paying the employees not the employer.

Agree, and the people who are stuck waiting in line for service because some moron thinks he is somehow entitled to boss people around based on their level of pay?
That's pure arrogance!

I always told my worker that the Customer is not always right.

Yeah, my employees knew their responsibilities, and customers were part of those responsibilities which were broken down by percentages.
If too much time was spent catering to an individual, others suffered. I actually have given customers their money back and told them to get the Fuck out, they were not welcome.

When I taught classes I told attendees they had some clients that needed to be fired. It would bring smiles. I would followup by saying, "Everyone just thought of some". That brought laughs.

If you call yourselves "sandwich artists", and I ask for light condenents, do it right. Light whatever should not result in it dripping from the sandwich.

And, sinse the attitude comes from these mega gas station food counter employees, this customer is not in the wrong. If we pay them $15 an hour, we expect it right the first time without attitude. The ordering kiosk is only as good as its programming. So, you have to tell them.

Since I regularly hit those places on the regular, I know what I am talking about. Don't tell me NOTHING on it. You guys can stick it with YOUR responses. My money. My expectations of the product and/or service. As soon as the kiosk is programmed correctly, we can be in a better position to receive what we want. But, there is still this idiot earning a underserved $15 an hour that will still screw it up.

I don't expect an attitude anywhere no matter what they are paid. But, I don't walk into a 7-11 and expect a full 7 course meal either. Point is there are some businesses that are not set up for custom jobs and some that are. You seem to expect the establishment to be different in what it provides just because the employer is forced to pay more? If you were paying twice as much for your product, I might agree with you. If you are not getting what you want now, I really doubt a forced minimum wage increase will change that.

Sick Of Silence

$15 an hour will quickly increase costs and it will be passed on to consumers. Don't care about their reduced hours. That is their problem. From what I experience, many don't want to work extra hours given the attitudes of the people I work with.

Plus, I have to be a principle person. If there is more money, there is an expectation of better products and service and vice versa. I expect the Lambo mechanic to treat my car better that the NTB mechanic.

It is hard to relay via words (especially on a forum), but I wrote exactly how I felt from the other day. Poor basic customer service skills for simple customer requests. If the kiosk goes so far to have amount levels of mayo or ketchup, then it is a custom order. Even telling a fast food for no onions is a custom order.

I'm sensing a bit of jealousy in your posts. Regardless of wage, if you're ordering a sandwich at a gas station, you almost deserve what you get.
