I just finished reading the last bundle of books I bought, and now I don't have any idea of what to buy. So if you know any good historical, conservative or philosophical books then please share  I'm going to latin america in one month and I need a lot of good books to read.

Mountainshield - I would recommend the book Guardians of the Gift by Thomas Longfellow.  Although a fiction piece its correlation to the world we have become and the fight for our freedoms is portrayed amazingly.

Hmm thanks, very cheap too just $6 paperback

The last fiction book I read was Battle for Corrin, will be good to read another novel. Love the summation,

QuoteCompletely controlling Federal City, the Enlightened heralded their 'Save and Create Jobs' program as a wild success. They celebrated after taxing the rich out of existence. They cheered the outlawing of horses and livestock due to their damaging effects on the climate. One of their proudest achievements was passing the 'Right to a Healer' ten years earlier. And now the Enlightened—led by their charismatic Presiding Chief—are on the brink of permanently reforming the country with their most controversial legislation yet—the 'Right to Eat'.

As far as fiction, if you like dark comedy then I highly recommend either Journey to the End of the Night or Death on the Installment Plan by Celine.

Death on the Installment Plan is personally my favorite. This is the only book that has caused me to actually laugh out loud.

Also, Dostoevsky is another favorite of mine. Crime and Punishment, Demons, or the Brothers Karamazov. You've probably more than likely read these though as their very famous books.

What sort of books on philosophy did you have in mind? Any particular philosopher/school?

Thanks for the tip, I'm not really into novels though, with a few exceptions. I can count all the novels series I have read on one hand to put it that way.

As for history and philosophy books, I just had to throw out two big sacks of books as they were taking up too much space and was never going to read them again and pretty sure I will never have to use them for reference again. I will never throw out my favorites though.

Hmm in philosophy I can read it all, I have mainly only read western and specifically european philosophers. Lately I have been reading US authors like Manly P Hall, but also Dennis Prager as I would call them philosophers in the best sense of the word.
