On Tuesday presidential candidate Jeb Bush spoke about the first meeting between himself and his future foreign bride, Columba. " It was love at first sight. I spoke little Spanish and she spoke little English, but when you are in love you can overcome those barriers pretty quick. There's another language that matters the most."

John Ellis "Jeb" Bush is an American businessman and politician who served as the 43rd Governor of Florida from 1999 to 2007. He is the second son of former President George H. W. Bush and former First Lady Barbara Bush, and the younger brother of former President George W. Bush.

Is this your work?

Four paragraphs or text not exceeding 200 words is considered fair usage, although it is ALWAYS best to credit the original source.

I see you have posted this on more then one political forum.

QuoteIs there a difference between Jeb Bush's Foreign Bride and so called Mail Order Brides? Feminists and women rights groups have argued for years that men who travel across boarders for love take advantage of women that come from lower economic regions. In 2005 the Tahirih Justice Center and Senator Cantwell pushed legislation regulating foreign brides, stating that men take unfair advantage of women in foreign counties. The law (IMBRA ) requires marriage brokers to run background checks on all men that seek a foreign bride. Bush's wife was underage at the time they met and came from one of the poorest areas of central America. Did Jeb Bush then take advantage of his future wife Columba? After all she came from poverty and Jeb Bush came from a powerful, wealthy family.

Care to discuss the parts in red, or dispute you yourself also said he WAITED SEVERAL YEARS before marrying. By "taking advantage of," what do you mean? I dare say a lot of American men who marry offshore women are probably the same men who don't care one bit for modern American women and recent OVERT hostility against men with manufactured "rape culture" and other nonsense.

Rupert Murdoch has retired from Fox and needs someone to help while away his few remaining years, just as did many others at all economic levels. Same for Trump. Same for Hispanics or blacks marrying outside their groups. It isn't race or nationality, it's the heart.

If you find someone you know you want to spend the rest of your life with, then what the public whiners don't like will not disturb you in the slightest.

I saw the reverse. He's more than insinuating that Jeb robbed the economic cradle.

Jeb might like to exploit his "foreign bride" for political purposes.

But, more important is the character and intellectual acuity of the spouse!  Is she a woman of strong character? Is she someone who possesses the poise and social grace to represent our Nation well?  Does she exhibit good taste in all things?  Does she have the ability to be a good role model to young women and be admired by all?  Does she have an "attitude"?

We have seen how these things have impacted our Nation with Michelle!  We don't need a repeat of her!

Well now that's all fine and good.  But I did not know that being the First Lady was a job.  Or that she would even be running for that job.  Do we get to vote for who will be First Lady.  So will the First Man of the WH need the same qualities.  The Clinton's have not been the best role model when it comes to there lifestyle.

I totally agree with that!!!

I am just saying that unless you vote for Graham (ugh) then they come as a package deal.  Whether you like her or not she will be representing our Nation to the world.  It isn't an official job but it is a role to play!

We have seen in vivid HD color just how embarrassing a First Lady can be for Americans!  We should at least give a  glance at the optics of the spouses of the candidates.  They also tell us a bit more information about our candidate and his ability to make wise decisions!!!

Well to date only Michelle, Hillary as First Ladies have made an ass out of themselves.  But that's just my way of thinking.

That is true.

However, that does not mean that a GOP spouse is immune!

All I am saying is that Jeb's wife has a history of somewhat unpleasant antics....  that's all.
