Title: Gidget Dead

Flying Nun, Patty Duke, Sybil, Gidget etc, call her what you like, but she was one talented woman.
RIP Patty, and thanks for the memories.

How sad.  I've seen her in mostly tv-movies.

Title: From the era of annoying T.V. themes
Post by: Late-For-Lunch on March 29, 2016, 01:25:59 PM
Ms. Duke redeemed herself and returned to her roots as a serious actor in, "Valley of the Dolls" with some success. But she will probably be forever remembered for starring in the fairly lame, iconic "feel good" Patty Duke Show which may deserve the label as having one of the lamest theme songs of all time for the horribly twisted, almost-demented theme:

Who, for instance (other than Caitlyn Jenner or Amy Schumer), wants to be associated with the phrase, "a hot dog makes her lose control" !?! Yes. Of course it does - but likely only because it has been spiked with cocaine or "E" by Hollywood agents.

Meet Cathy, who's lived most everywhere,
From Zanzibar to Barclay Square.
But Patty's only seen the sights
A girl can see from Brooklyn Heights — What a crazy pair!

But they're cousins,
Identical cousins all the way.
One pair of matching bookends,
Different as night and day.

Where Cathy adores a minuet,
The Ballet Russes, and crepe suzette,
Our Patty loves to rock and roll,
A hot dog makes her lose control (see, I didn't make it up-LFL)— What a wild duet!

Still, they're cousins,
Identical cousins and you'll find,
They laugh alike, they walk alike,
At times they even talk alike —
You can lose your mind,
When cousins are two of a kind.

Boy did I screw this up. I somehow melded Sally Fields and Duke into one composite character.
Hey, don't ask why, sometimes brainfarts like this make life more interesting than the subject themselves.

Here's Patty. The book is excellent.

Yeah Solar that threw me for a loop. I was like.... wait.... wasn't that Sally Field that played Gidget and the Flying Nun. You had me "Googlin"
