Lol I translated "sophistry" in the translater because I forgot the Norwegian spelling for it, and the example of sophistry it gave me was this...

QuoteDefinisjoner av sophistry
substantiv
the use of fallacious arguments, especially with the intention of deceiving.
«But Keynes smoothed over the harsh Marxist anti-individualism with artful sophistry and clever rhetoric into something salable to Americans.»
- Google Translate

I don't know that it would be  fair to call Google communist. Still, I think the case could be made that one reason the Google business plan has been so successful is that elements of it were and have been introduced during an era of very low suspicion of both the authoritarian state and very low awareness of communist methodology.

Think about this, the Tea Party came along well into Google's rein on the internet, a rein that was established almost immediately starting in the early 1990's. Remember, Clintons and Gores were America's role models at that time. The old timers in the Tea Party were laying the U. S. Constitution on the table, saying, in effect, "Now hold on just a daggone minute, here. Look at this. read this."

The data mining that has made Google and Microsoft so much money is based on privacy invasion, wire tapping. The technology that allows data mining is also the reason the systems are so vulnerable to hacking and identity theft. They all know it. Congress has been told from the start. Don't think they are stupid, they just act that way.

Granted, Google has a serious leftist bent, but honestly, I can't complain, it is Google that ranks us 5 on the Page ranking system (which puts us with the big boys), which also puts us first in all searches relevant to the forum or things Conservative, TEA.
Hell, we place ahead of all the big guys like Rush and Hannity, when searching for Conservative content.

One of the very reasons we were rated as high as we are, is due to google's algorithm judging truthfulness.

Look, I am not opposed to progress. Every step forward is bound to have aspects that both enhance and restrict freedom. Our challenge is to emphasize the free and eliminate the unfree.  I can truthfully say, with the exception of user tracking on sites like You Tube, which is my choice, security programmers have provided me with protection that virtually has eliminated tracking on my machine.  That, and the interest of online banking, online commerce, has actually made the web kind of safe, but it is a constant war.
People trick Google. For example, if I search "Presidential Polls," I am likely to bring up 2012 as I am 2016. That's because news outlets want us to click on their pages, regardless of relevance. Now, Google has countered by running a line of boxes along the top of the screen, boxes that link to timely matter. So, even Google is constantly improving.
If it works for you, Solar, I'm all for it. Still, the 4th will not go away.

Don't get me wrong, there is only one thing worse than a private entity having a monopoly in an industry such as this, and that's govt, but when these two entities work in tandem, we have a serious threat to Liberty.

What bothers me the most, is the Right, for some unknown reason fails to challenge them in the mkt place, so we have only ourselves to blame.

That is where the real hue and cry is. It is the basis for the net neutrality controversy. Namely, global communication coming under total surveillance of the state, with commercial entities making of it what they may.

I don't understand why there are not multiple private networks on the market. Why just one? We know that securing a network is not impossible. There must be pressure being brought to bear on network entrepreneurs. What other explanation can there be?  It is likely a combination of Big Brother paranoia and the natural tendency of Washington to want to run everything. Notice, the Chinese, our buddies, are hardening their networks, making them exclusively domestic.

Google is evil.

Avoid it if you can.

I can't.
