Getting excuses together?

It seems like the MSM is mashing together excuses in anticipation of Obama losing. One that's been making the rounds lately is that Mitt Romney's son owns shares in the company that operates voting machines in Ohio, or something along those lines. I guess the logic is, since the election may well come down to Ohio, a Romney win can be characterized as "stolen".

Another, potentially more dangerous excuse, is the race card. Hence, the AP came out with the following poll:

QuoteRacial attitudes have not improved in the four years since the United States elected its first black president, an Associated Press poll finds, as a slight majority of Americans now express prejudice toward blacks whether they recognize those feelings or not.

Those views could cost President Barack Obama votes as he tries for re-election, the survey found, though the effects are mitigated by some Americans' more favorable views of blacks.

Racial prejudice has increased slightly since 2008 whether those feelings were measured using questions that explicitly asked respondents about racist attitudes, or through an experimental test that measured implicit views toward race without asking questions about that topic directly.

The idea, of course, is that an Obama loss would be attributed to racism. It just seems too coincidental that stories like this are making the rounds right before the election.

Well, the "true believers" at this other, left leaning board I'm posting on have been running with this story. I guess it is their excuse if/when Obama loses.

Speaking of conspiracies, I'd really like to thank you for posting that link to Admin on how to permanently ban someone by IP number --- while Ricky gets back in and I cannot.

Hard cold facts. I'm locked out. The guy banned 150+ times is back in.

If it's any consolation, the red-lettered one PMed me that IP bans don't work with the YaBB layout. So, basically, he confirmed what we already knew...
