Talk about depressing! The large city I grew up in has turned into a sewer.

That's a resourceful link.
My grandparents used to go to bed with marine and police chatter as their 'internet'. The marine-traffic had a calming effect, but police-traffic could cause endless befuddlement. They/we already know crimes peak-'n-pause. That's human society. But there's a lot of police-calls that sound seriously-complicated, then are resolved over the radio without any satisfying elaboration.
First stop the next morning: the crimes reported section in the newspaper, which usually never contain info on the calls-in-question.
That night, new scenario's happen... curiosities repeat, unquenched.
My grandparents loved it though.
