Ohio/Indiana border: Nice pileup of 40 vehicles
« on: January 12, 2016, 04:08:38 PM »
Quote
Eastbound Interstate 74 has reopened a massive crash that involved 40 vehicles on westbound I-74 Tuesday morning near the Ohio/Indiana border.

Quote
The crashes were likely caused by reduced visibility and further complicated by unfavorable road conditions, officials said.  Snow squalls this morning had reduced visibility to near zero in some areas of the Tri-State.

The crashes were likely caused by 'reduced visibility' and 'unfavorable' road conditions? Suuure! And the crashes were not due in any way to the actions of the drivers themselves. sarc

We've had these disasters where dense fog settles.

It happened to us about half way up into the mountains.  Scary time when you can't see two feet in front of you.
The danger to America is not Barack Obama but the citizens capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency.

Farther north along that same borderline, in Michigan, it's hilly country and similar pileups have occurred on both I-94 and (back a bit to the south) the Ohio Turnpike. Yesterday, for example, I was out in what became a total white-out, with snow completely blocking visibility.

Instant total white. It's terrifying at even 35 miles per hour on a hilly curvy 2-lane road like most of ours. The expressways cited above are far far worse.

So sure, blame the drivers if you want to. Until you've been there. Right north along that very same line you mentioned.
