Gays who believe homosexuality is a mental illness
« on: June 07, 2015, 11:32:06 AM »
Hello

This is the first time I have posted so please forgive me if I have this topic in the wrong place. However, I had a questions and was hoping to receive some help.

I am writing an article about gays who are against the homosexual agenda and thought I would include something in there about homosexuality and mental health. In the 1970s the APA changed the classification of homosexuality so it was no longer considered mental illness and many psychology and psychiatry organizations all over the world have followed. However, there was little basis at that time to think it should be changed and that decision has faced criticism as being political more than scientific.

In that vein I was wondering if anyone knew of any homosexuals who believe homosexuality is a mental illness or at the very least think that the 1970s decision by the APA was wrong (while you can include ex-gays, I am looking more for people who currently claim to be gay).

Does anyone know of anything like this?

Welcome John

No sorry, I know of nothing like that.

I don't think that there are any real conclusive studies regarding the causes of homosexuality, or if science has been able to determine why, biologically anyway.

The only thing I hear all the time, is that "they didn't choose" to be that way.
The danger to America is not Barack Obama but the citizens capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency.

I believe you pinpoint the exact moment we collectively leaped from the cliff of common sense as a Nation.

Since then it has all been about "how you feel" about yourself.  That has taken the drivers seat.

But we are now coming up against the wall on "feelings".

As a Psychologist very poignantly stated this morning on TV...

If I am 51 but "feel like" a 65 year old..... can I get Medicare?

Did Jenner "feel like" a female ....... or did he desire fame and a cover shot on a magazine?

Did Rachel Dolezal "feel" black ....... or just desire the advantage it would give her on a job?

So, you see, feelings are fickle and our Nation has done a belly flop into the pool of stupidity!

Join that feel good agenda with what evolved into a tyrannical vendetta on behalf of "political correctness," and create an atmosphere in which even licensed psychiatrists and clinical psychologists were keeping research and findings among themselves rather than share them and bear the consequences.
Add global warming and we truly have America's "Galileo Moment."  :sneaky:
