While I find it fascinating that they went to great efforts to dig up crap on Ted, I find it interesting that they use a bunch of leftist RINO and other libs as character references.
Yes, this was from last year, but looking back, it begs the question, was the left really so afraid of Cruz, that they were willing to accept Trump?
Hindsight being 20/20, I think it's safe to say they preferred a Trump over Crux, knowing full well Clinton didn't have a prayer.

If the libs felt that clinton did not have a prayer, I believe it was before the primaries started. I'm guessing after the libs saw how the lsm won the republican primary for Trump ( or greatly helped him) they felt the election was in the bag for two reasons, that Trump was the one candidate the libs felt they could beat, and that by getting the nomination for Trump the lsm looked to be all powerful and could make up for any of hillaries short comngs.  Hillary did not run a campaign that suggested she felt it would be a close race, she ran a campaign full of overconfidence, almost as if campaigning was beneath her and totally unnecessary. One item hillary did not see or believe, while the polls did show low approval ratings for Trump, it did not show how many were willing to vote for Trump just to vote against her. I still think it was that little item that gave Trump the Whitehouse. ( the supreme court vacancy a close 2nd) I am one of the ones who voted against hillary. I did not care for Trump, period! I expected the media to lie about Cruz, that's who they are, but I will not forget Trump also lied about Cruz because that is who he is. I am thankful hillary is not in the Whitehouse and have been pleased with some of what Trump has done, but I also see why I have set a real low bar of expectations when it comes to him. When the next election comes, Trump's endorsement or non endorsement will have no impact for me, as I do not see him endorsing a conservative. I also do not see any Trump coattails nor do I see any conservative who stands up to him as hurting his chances.

I believe there was one more reason the LSM backed Trump, they knew it would be a bloody slaughter of the Dim party if they didn't stop Cruz.
That's something they simply couldn't live with, having to admit the country resoundingly rejected liberalism on every level.

:thumbup:  if the lsm saw a slaughter coming with a Cruz nomination, you knew that slaughter was going to be huuuge.  Well, at least hillary is doing interviews that nobody watches instead of running the white house. I wonder what the clinton foundation would be worth now had she won? or would they just rename Ft. Knox the clinton foundation?

I agree with you that Trump did not win, but Hillary lost. I, like many here, were not Trumpsters, but were anti-Hillary. She would have been an absolute disaster. Loretta Lynch would still be AG and our country would be sale to the highest bidder if Hillary were POTUS.

Yes, in my mind as well, Hillary lost. We now have placed a conservative to fill Scalia's seat.  We may not get anymore than that.  I'm holding out hope that if Kennedy or Ginsburg step down Trump will seat another conservative to take their place.

I've been disappointed in a couple of he decisions, but I still believe that there isn't anyone that we have right now that would make a better president.  IMHO, I believe that Trump was put into the race to stop Cruz.  Trump jumped in soon afterward Cruz made his announcement to run and he went after him instead of Hillary. With Trump's actions so far, I believe I am starting to see evidence of that being true.  He met with Ryan, McConnell and Preibus 4 months before he was handed the nomination and 2 months before Cruz conceded. Trump was hasted through the nomination process and the rules committee was not afforded a roll call vote. Trump nominated Preibus as his Chief of Staff. Cruz right now is making an effort to publicly side with Trump when Trump deserves some credit; in hopes that Trump will help support him in '18.  Yes, I believe Trump has the power of the establishment, the media  and the money behind him to stop Cruz.

The reality that I see is that right now the House has turned the healthcare issue over to the Senate which now puts Cruz between a rock and a hard place ... IF he votes for the newly improved Senate bill he will lose voters because it doesn't REPEAL as he promised and IF he doesn't vote for the newly improved Senate bill he will be targeted heavily as the one who stood in the way of getting a healthcare bill to REPLACE (even though that wasn't the promise) the ACA.

Cruz, Tea and constitutional conservatives rose up and we came very, very close to winning...the RINO's and DEMS came together and stopped us.  I was actually amazed that Trump appointed Gorsuch...Cruz got him to stick to his word by telling him he would publicly vote for him; how and why Trump kept his end of the bargain, I haven't quite figured.

Most will continue to disagree with me, but I believe Cruz is in for the fight of his life in TX in '18 ...though Castro announced he wasn't running against, him, I don't buy it. The RINO's, and the DEMS are continuing to do every thing they can to destroy him and the conservative movement. Their worst nightmare is Cruz running in 2020 or 2024.  Not only will he have the money needed behind him, but he will have the name recognition behind him and I am confident that many more people already realize that he's the real deal.

If you get a chance, skim through the article, it proves Cruz is the real deal where Conservatism is concerned.
While other Pubs are willing to do as told, Cruz proved over and over he's willing to stand on principle, gaining him the brand of "Smug" and a myriad of other names leftists call Conservatives.
This is why I chose this article, the left just doesn't understand, Conservatives are people that actually have values they're unwilling to compromise at any level.
It's the very reason this forum refused to back Trump, it's a principle thing and to support a lib is to throw out one's values.

Do read through the article, if anything, it makes you appreciate Cruz all the better. :biggrin:

I agree GOPe has the long knives out for Cruz. They didn't want Trump, but gladly took him rather than Cruz because they didn't think Trump could win.

Exactly. Though we'll never know for sure, had Kasich and Rubio jumped out sooner, I believe we would have a President Cruz.  While Trump and Cruz had a bitter battle going on, I still would have loved to have seen the absolute and utter chaos brought about by a Trump/Cruz ticket.  Without a doubt, I think we would have seen an absolutely monumental landslide.

Well, I have seen where Trump is fixing to start filling 175 federal court vacancies. Guess we will find out real soon if Neil Gorsuch will be followed by other conservatives.
