OK, not TEA, but not an Establishment whore either.

Republican businesswoman Lena Epstein announced Monday she will run for U.S. Senate in 2018, saying Michigan is ready for another outsider with business experience after its voters favored Donald Trump in the presidential election.

A relative political newcomer who has not held elective office, she was a co-chair of Trump's Michigan campaign last year and said she will "take the fight directly to" Sen. Debbie Stabenow, 67, a Democrat who is expected to seek a fourth term and who coasted to re-election in 2006 and 2012.

Lena Epstein is the future of the Republican Party. Could she be the next Elise Stefanik? At 35, like Stefanik, Epstein is a Harvard-educated, Millennial business executive who helps run the family business in a former industrial boom region of the country that has been left behind as America's manufacturing centers have struggled. Hailing from Detroit, Epstein co-chaired Donald Trump's presidential campaign in Michigan, a crucial swing state that propelled Trump to the White House and returned Republicans to both houses of Congress.

"I WAS SICK AND TIRED OF BEING SICK AND TIRED. AND SO I FOUND MYSELF, ON PERHAPS THE MOST LIBERAL CAMPUS IN THE COUNTRY  BECOMING A REPUBLICAN"
As a Jewish voter, Epstein also goes against the grain: Pew reports 71 percent of Jewish voters chose Hillary Clinton and just 24 percent went for Trump.

"I think it is very fashionable to be a Democrat, and to vote left, but I know many Jewish-Americans also vote right," she said. "I think people tend to vote for what they know and have a hard time thinking outside the box. People from all sides of the political spectrum have a responsibility to advocate for their beliefs, not just in social groups, but religious groups too."

Epstein was raised in a family of liberals and independents. "There is no question I am the only conservative in the group," she said. "All throughout my childhood, I took for granted the fact that I was, and would be, a Democrat."

We have to start somewhere in states like MI. Trump opened the door. Quiller can best address this, but I would think there would be concern in the state where Islamists have made such an impact.

I think she has a pretty good chance, being a Joo, female, non-Establishment, nor TEA, there isn't a whole lot they can hold against her, while her opponent has made a career of sucking tax dollars.

*SHUDDER*

Up against a fourth term total waste of a bullet, like the odious Dumpy Debbie? Sorry. Our newcomer with the Jennifer Granholm babe-ness factor unfortunately won't make the primary cut.

Granholm got in on her looks and snuck out on her failures. Candice Miller is vastly better but I'm not the least bit sure of any state candidate as I frankly don't follow them much. I live in a hard core pocket of scumsucking communists and have the local and national issues to keep me warm.

Michigan tends to follow 8 year pendulum swings between the two major parties, electing people who absolutely must maintain balanced budgets, unlike our federal criminals. They also favor experience, as Candice Miller found out with Secretary of State.

Four terms is bulletproof. You need a major criminal case like any number of black Michigan politicians to get that changed. (Kwame "Jar Jar Bling Bling" Kilpatrick being my recent fave, but Monica Conyers is a close second.)

Stabenow got in only because a worthless Republican completely screwed the pooch in his only term. Spencer Abraham should have been disappeared after that rotten a campaign. Meanwhile, Dumpy Debby slid in and attached her barnacles to our wallets.

Stabenow has a lie-to-your-face publicity gang who can make it sound like she alone conquered cancer and did a fast Irish River-dance across the Potomac, every alternate Thursday. She won't need to fill her publicity with glamorous photos, but exaggerations of success with the legal citations to support it.

I read the name Elise Stefanik for the first time in this thread. Can't comment.
